Not able to make the community meeting last night, However, this new proposal was just brought to my attention 2 days ago. The proposed map that I have seen for the new development of the skate park has me with many questions. Is there going to be a through street on Vista Point Drive (5955 S.) Off of Impressions Drive in Oquirrh Park Community? The map is not real clear on the west side neighborhood of this proposal.
Did anyone else get the feeling last night that the decisions have already been made and we have no say in what they are doing to the area? I was especially unimpressed by Chuck McDowell and his arrogance that he knows what is best for our area and our concerns are invalid. He doesn't live in our subdivision and this project will have little or no impact on his neighborhood! Dave, please run against this guy!
There are still too many unanswered questions on this project and what impact it will have on the area. The actual skate park is such a small part of this plan, and the I am afraid that after a few years of working on this huge project they will run out of money or public support and leave it unfinished like Loder Park. We don't need any more half-done messes here!
To all my neighbors, don't stop being involved in this. Let's make them give us answers and listen to our concerns. This is too important to let slide!
If you are in the street that has the barricades to the field, Then you will be connected to Loder which will tie into the soccer fields and the public park. If you want your voice heard, you need to attend the Community Council meetings on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays.
